Plan the specification and compare the complete quotation

Choose by the job, not only the model badge

For a CAT 320D or another excavator, identify the exact variant and serial number rather than treating 320D, 320D2 and 320D L as interchangeable. Compare boom, arm, bucket, hydraulic functions and undercarriage wear. A displayed hour reading needs supporting history; agree a qualified inspection and record known defects.

What is included in the price?

Ask for these line items in one currency, with a validity date and named delivery point. An unquoted item is unknown, not free. Do not add a cost twice when it is already included.

Vehicle / equipment
Exact chassis or serial identity, configuration and condition; state whether a trailer or attachment is included.
Preparation and options
Itemized repairs, tires, body, fittings and acceptance evidence; separate optional work.
Inspection
Agreed scope, who performs it, fee and written results. A reference photo is not a passed inspection.
Origin logistics
Inland transport, export handling, loading and packing: identify inclusions and who pays.
Freight and insurance
Named route, shipping method and dated freight; show insurance scope separately when applicable.
Destination costs
Port charges, clearance, duties, taxes and inland delivery: ask a local agent for amounts and exclusions.

Send the job, model, quantity, condition and destination port. Use the optional buying-details field below for dimensions, trailer or attachments; request an itemized dated offer.

EXPORT BUYER GUIDE

Used Caterpillar 320D inspection checklist

A CAT 320D model name does not prove the year, hours or condition of a particular machine. Compare offers using serial identity, undercarriage condition, hydraulic performance and a complete working test.

01

Identify the selected machine

Request serial and model plates, current full-machine photographs and the displayed hours. Treat year and hours as seller-reported unless supported by reliable records.

  • Serial and model plates
  • Current photographs
  • Displayed hours
  • Available service records
02

Check mechanical and hydraulic condition

A continuous video should show engine start, smoke and leaks, travel, swing, boom, arm and bucket cycles. Inspect pump response, cylinders, pins, bushings and the complete undercarriage.

  • Engine and cooling
  • Pump and cylinders
  • Pins and bushings
  • Tracks and rollers
03

Define attachment and delivery scope

Confirm bucket size, auxiliary lines, attachments, repairs, transport dimensions and any disassembly needed for shipping. Tie final payment to agreed evidence.

  • Bucket and attachments
  • Repairs included
  • Transport condition
  • Final inspection

PURCHASING FAQ

Are CAT 320D, 320D L and 320D2 the same machine?

Do not treat these model labels as interchangeable. Request the complete model designation and serial plate for the offered machine, then verify its specification, parts compatibility and transport dimensions. A badge or listing title alone is not enough.

Is a used CAT 320D automatically Cat Certified Used?

No. An ordinary used-machine offer does not establish manufacturer certification, dealer inspection or a manufacturer-backed warranty. Request documentary proof for any certification or warranty claim; this catalogue page does not make that claim.

Can the operating hours be guaranteed?

Displayed hours should be treated as reported until supported by the selected machine, records and inspection evidence.

What should a CAT 320D test video show?

Request identity, start-up, engine response, travel in both directions, swing, all hydraulic cycles, visible leaks and undercarriage close-ups.

How is an excavator shipped?

The method depends on dimensions, weight, port and whether the boom, arm, bucket or cab must be removed. The quotation should state the transport condition.
